Department Mission Statement

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences has been designed to enrich and expand our students’ technological literacy through the exploration of technology with continued attention paid to the contemporary social and cultural systemic responses. The department serves to engage students in the exploration of the disciplinary foundations of computer science and information science, the examination of technology in a legal context through contemporary case law, and to examine how technology is changing the social context, culture, relationships, and one’s self-identification.
