Patrick Cattey ‘83
Patrick David Cattey, age 59, following a brief illness. Born November 30, 1964, son of David and Sharon Cattey. He was married to the love of his life and soulmate Patricia Hughes, who preceded him in death in 2020. A loving husband and father, and a very proud grandfather, he is survived by his son David Michael (Tori) of Toledo and four grandchildren: Owen Cattey-Hayes, Taelyn Rose Cattey, Remy Anne Cattey, and Jaedyn Kelley. His daughter Kaitlyn Taylor Cattey preceded him in death in 2008.
In addition, Pat is survived by his parents, brother Matthew Cattey of Columbus and sister Bridget Haghnazari (Cirous) of Westerville; niece Megan Lehman (Michael) and nephews Abram, Dastan and Kian Haghnazari, along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to mention.
Pat was an accomplished and well-known automotive technician having achieved his ASE Master Tech Certification at a very young age and a 35-year career with Clintonville Automotive Repair Service in Columbus. He enjoyed motorcycling, competitive marksmanship, woodworking, travel and Ohio State athletics. Ultimately, he and his late wife Patti were devoted to animal preservation efforts and enjoyed rescuing homeless dogs, the latest of which was his pal Cupcake.
Friends may call Thursday July 25 from 5 to 8pm at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville Ohio, followed by a prayer service at 7:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Patricia Cattey Memorial Fund at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the Franklin County Humane Society, or The Alzheimers Association of Central Ohio
