Christine (KellY) Shuey '88

Christine was born on February 11, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Dorothy Kelly. She was proud to be a member of the first full graduating class of St. Anthony School. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School, class of 1988. She then went to Xavier University and graduated from THE Ohio State University in Nursing. She retired from Mt. Carmel Health System working as a nurse from 1992-2024. She devoted her career to mothers and newborns. She was currently working as a high-risk nurse/case manager for mothers and infants with AETNA-CVS.

Christine was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Parish, and was currently a member of St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. Elizabeth. She was a Eucharistic minister, and she volunteered in many activities. Christine had a huge heart for cats and dogs, especially her dog Rita; oh, and also her family. Her children were everything to her, and she was a proud mother and wife. She would constantly talk and praise about her doubly blessed, Megan and Makayla. She planned every family event and holiday. She remembered every birthday and would call you with a Happy Birthday wish. She was a social butterfly and loved going out with her friends. Christine enjoyed the arts, like plays and theater. She loved to travel with family and friends, especially her annual Amish country trip. She will truly be missed by her family, friends, and everyone that knows her.

Christine is preceded in death by father, James P. Kelly; grandparents on both sides of her family; Father in law Nevin Shuey; her cats, Whiskey, Bud; and dog, Bailey.

Christine is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Shuey; her daughters, Megan Shuey and Makayla Shuey; her mother, Dorothy “Dotty” Kelly; her siblings, Debbie (Chris Bartmess) Kelly and Brian (Gaby) Kelly; Sister in law, Michelle (David) Pelles; Mother in law, Sherron Shuey; many nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend, Bridget Haghnazari; her dog, Rita; and many relatives and friends.
